- Barss, A. -. (2011, 2012-08-01). Science on Screen: Project Nim. Loft Cinema.More infoI was one of three SBS faculty on a discussion panel at the Loft Cinema's screening of the Project Nim documentary. We discussed aspects of the project (my focus was on the linguistic science, the experimental design and methodology, and humanitarian social science aspects of the project. The cinema was filled to capacity, and so this was by far the largest audience (approx. 500 people) I've ever addressed. This was immensely successful. Coverage in local media was widespread, including the Arizona Daily Star, Tucson Weekly, the Daily Wildcat, Arizona Public Media, and others.
