Biography
Since retiring from industry in 2018 after a 36-year career, Bill has focused on teaching Cybersecurity Engineering courses in the Systems & Industrial Engineering (SIE) Department at the College of Engineering, and Management Information Systems (MIS) courses at the Eller College of Management. He is an active contributor to both colleges, serving as a Design Day Judge, ENG 498 panelist, and MIS/BCOM Case Competition Judge.
Awards since joining the University: Eller College Students' Choice - Upper Division MIS/OSCM Faculty Award, and Eller College Associate of the Year 2024-2025
Bill’s industry experience spans a wide range of engineering and IT roles, including:
Manager of Engineering, Sysmex America (Health IT Systems Division) – Led teams of systems engineers, interface engineers, and software developers in designing and deploying clinical laboratory automation systems, middleware solutions, and advanced diagnostic technologies globally.
Software Consultant, Avnet Enterprise Solutions – Partnered with major ISVs to deliver enterprise solutions in areas such as cybersecurity, data backup, RDBMS, disaster recovery, antivirus, and network management.
Application Engineer, Kingway Material Handling Systems – Designed automation solutions for distribution centers.
Interface Engineer, Baxter Healthcare – Developed and supported pharmacy automation system interfaces for the Productivity Systems Division.
Technical Advisor, Instructor & Curriculum Developer, Royal Saudi Naval Forces.
Instructional Developer, TSM Inc.
Electronic Warfare Instructor & Technician, U.S. Navy – Specialized in electronic warfare systems and training development.
