Interests
Teaching
My mission is to help students become future-proof clinicians by promoting lifelong learning and ensuring that clinical skills and knowledge derive from the underlying science. I champion student-centered collaborative learning in my classes, and throughout the curriculum, to achieve this goal. This approach shifts responsibility for learning to the students while challenging faculty to help students connect the dots and develop high-level mastery.
Research
I use a combination of quantitative and qualitative research to understand the student perspective and improve the student educational experience. Both teaching and cultural innovations are explored to identify innovations that meet the evolving needs of our curriculum.
