Biography

Dr. Carmen King de Ramirez is an Assistant Professor of Spanish at the University of Arizona and the Director of the online Spanish program. Dr. King-Ramírez has a Masters degree in Sociolinguistics and received her Ph.D. in Spanish Literature and Culture.  She has extensive experience in curriculum development and teacher training. Dr. King-Ramírez actively researches in the fields of World Languages for Specific Purposes (WLSP), online learning, and international education.  Her publications include the co-edited volume "Teaching Transferable Skills for the 21st Century: World Languages for Specific Purposes" and the forthcoming book, "Online Assessment for World Language Teachers".  She has also has many publications in academic journals.
