Biography
Matt Haertzen is a Lecturer of Finance. Prior to joining the Eller College he was a Senior Lecturer of Finance at Northern Arizona University and also the CEO of Four Peaks Wealth Management (FPWM).
Matt is a CFA Charterholder and his investing passion and career success both stem from extensive work experience in the investment community.
After graduating from the University of Minnesota with an MBA, Matt began his career with Ameriprise Financial, where he managed a staff of three analysts supporting the quantitative mutual fund product line. From there, he went on to work for the University of Minnesota Endowment, a $650 million fund where he was responsible for asset allocation and manager selection. Matt then joined a trust company in Washington, where he was responsible for managing $600 million in large capitalization stocks. After his time in Washington, Matt moved to Boise Idaho, where he managed a combined $1 billion in assets for the Idaho Endowment Fund, Judge’s Retirement System and the Idaho State Insurance Fund. In his last investment position before founding Four Peaks Wealth Management, Matt designed a global timber fund for Cogent Partners that traded publicly on the London AIM Exchange.
Matt’s wife teaches business classes at Pima Community College and his son is a CPA working in Denver. In Matt's free time, he enjoys golf, mountain biking, camping and fishing.
