Biography
Monica J. Casper is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Inclusion and Professor of Gender and Women's Studies in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Arizona. A feminist sociologist, she writes about gender, health, bodies, reproductive justice, trauma, and disability. She is author of the award-winning book The Making of the Unborn Patient: A Social Anatomy of Fetal Surgery, co-author of Missing Bodies: The Politics of Visibility and The Body: Social and Cultural Dissections, and co-editor most recently of Critical Trauma Studies: Understanding Violence, Conflict, and Memory in Everyday Life.
