Biography
Monica Morales is an Associate Professor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Arizona where she teaches on colonial literature and culture of Spanish and Portuguese America. She graduated from Purdue University. Questions of representation, identity, race, the politics of knowledge, and social justice in the contexts of the discovery and its legacies are her main research focus through the lenses of postcolonial theory, visual culture, subaltern studies, and space studies.
