Creative Productions
- Holt, P. L. (2015. An Enemy of the People.More infoI am currently in production as costume designer on Ibsen's An Enemy of the People with Playmakers Repertory Company in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. At this LORT C theater I will complete this 1950's style design in february of 2015.
- Holt, P. L. (2015. Othello.More infoI am currently in production as costume designer for the ART production of Othello. This production is set mid 10th century in a Civil War/New Orleans setting. It has required the coordination of reproduction of authentic Civil War uniforms being produced by a company on Philadelphia, as well as creating new period underpinnings for the unique period silhouette.
Creative Performances
- Holt, P. L. (2021. Into the Woods. performance. Tornabene Theater.
Creative Works
- Costume Design; Costume Design; October; During the summer of 2002 I designed the costumes for a production of Richard III for the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. This is my third season designing for this prestigous festival. Also, I am currently designing three productions for The School of Theatre; the Cider House Rules(parts 1&2), and A Midsummer Night's Dream. In the Fall of 2002 I designed the costumes for The School of Theatre'e Encore! production.
- Retro Game Show Night; October; I continue to produce and host a monthly show at Hotel Congress called Retro Game Show Night. In this show we recreate 1970's style game shows using audience members as contestants. This includes a great deal of preparation and organization. We just had our third anniverssary of this show and we are proud to say we have sold out every show for over three years now.
- Native American Project; October; I continue to work on a personal project that is a hybrid production of theater and dance. This highly stylized production is based on the creation myths of the local Native Americans and combines traditional storytelling and native dance with Modern dance and movement. It's meant to be an homage to Native People and an opportunity to view the world through a different set of eyes.
- Honeybaked Glam; live production; March; As host and primary performer in this ongoing production, I design, construct, and maintain costumes needed for this live and mostly improvisational performance on a weekly basis.
- Uniquely Zoo; March; I have begun writing and illustarting a children's book titled Uniquely Zoo which tells the story of a zoo where the animals all have uniquley personal characteristics that the world may view as different. Imagine a zebra with spots instead of stripes, an elephant with a short trunk, a crocodile that only likes salad, etc... The intent is to show the beauty and desirability of being "uniquely you".
- Romeo and Juliet; theater; March 2023
- RuPaul's Drag Race; March 2015; In the summer of 2015 I was cast on and recorded episodes for the reality television competition, RuPaul's Drag Race. This production is considered the Olympics of the art of drag and it was a huge honor to be selected from thousands of candidates to participate. The show requires performance, but also a great deal of creative energy making over 20 costumes, designing and styling wigs and makeup, and competing against other very talented artists.
- Uniquely Zoo, a children's book; book; August 2017; I have written a children's book that is being shopped by a book agentbto various publishers at this time.
