Biography
Professor Youdin's research addresses planet formation and the theoretical questions raised by extrasolar planets and the Solar System's minor planets. He uses a range of tools including particle and fluid dynamics, statistical, analytic and numerical methods. Current work covers the formation of planets, the thermal evolution of irradiated extrasolar planets, the origin of angular momentum transport in disks, the role of radiation pressure in star formation and predictions for the core mass of directly imaged giant planets.
