Biography
| Ali Bilgin received the B.S. degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 1992, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from San Diego State University, San Diego, California, USA, in 1995, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, USA, in 2002. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Radiology and Imaging Sciences at the University of Arizona. He has authored or coauthored more than 300 research papers in international journals and conference proceedings and holds fifteen granted patents, with several additional patents pending. He has served on the organizing committees of numerous conferences and as an Associate Editor for IEEE Signal Processing Letters from 2010 to 2012, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing from 2010 to 2014, and IEEE Transactions on Computational Imaging from 2014 to 2019. His research interests include signal and image processing, image and video coding, data compression, and magnetic resonance imaging. |
