The University of Arizona Libraries (UAL) piloted Article Galaxy Scholar (AGS), a self-service document delivery tool, to explore possible use cases; learn more about our users’ behaviors when offered greater choice in a self-service, article delivery environment; and assess the potential cost of implementation both in staff resourcing and on our information access budget. This tool would provide insightful data into how we could utilize AGS effectively in multiple areas. Type or paste your abstract here as prescribed by the journal’s instructions for authors.

    More info
2020 has been a difficult year, and a shining example of how libraries have needed to make large impactful decisions to stay one step ahead. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Arizona Libraries has taken measures to ensure that patrons continue to have access to quality resources, and that they receive a similar level of service that is comparable to pre COVID-19. In our session, we will discuss how we took advantage of resources such as the Emergency Temporary Access Service provided by Hathi and The Internet Archive’s OpenLibrary; our strategies for implementing and publicizing these resources; technical solutions for expanding patron search options; and the changes we’ve had to make to fit the ever-morphing landscape that has become definitive of our time during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    More info
The effort to market library programs has been the subject of many presentations and professional articles. Is any of it working? This session will highlight the efforts of a medium sized university library in advertising and attracting students to programs. Examples of marketing will be highlighted with discussion of intended target audience. Participants will leave with an idea of what forms of program marketing have been the most effective, and which groups these forms are reaching. They will also be invited to brainstorm future marketing ideas, or to join the discussion by sharing what has worked at their own institutions.
