Biography

Renee Carstens became an Assistant Agent, 4-H Youth Development in Gila County June 2018. Her employment began at the University of Arizona in Sept. 2016 as a Porgram Coordinator, Sr. with FCHS.  Renee earned a Master’s degree, with Honors, in Educational Leadership from NAU.  Throughout tenure, she has taught elementary and early childhood, developed outdoor play environments for a K-6 schools, mentored interns, facilitated service learning programs, taught life skills, wrote and implemented grants and was an instructor of leadership development courses at Pima Community College.   Renee is mom to Mackenzie and Kyle, and has been married to Steve Carstens for 30 years.
