Biography
Dr. Anna Leach's research focuses on the intersection of people, technology and information in the higher education space. Her work focuses on the stakeholders' perceptions of differing educational technology as well as the information that is captured by these technologies. These endeavors include considerations of student preference, ethical use of data, educational data mining and pipeline impact, and ways of utilizing data to understand interaction patterns and improve institutional success. She has worked with research teams across the university to explore educational tools such as TopHat, PowerNotes, and D2L, with an emphasis on reducing instructor burden while enhancing the student experience. With each of these research ventures, she holds the need to know the person that is behind the data point, zooming in and out of the data to work towards a deeper understanding of its meaning.Degrees
